CARE and SUPPORT

Mission Team - Worshipping
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth, worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.” [Psalm 100: 1-2] Congregations are centers of worship, and it is the happy responsibility of this Ministry Team to assist the pastor and congregation council in overseeing the worship life of the congregation.  Worship is at the center of Trinity’s corporate life. Most Sunday liturgies are planned with great devotion to the historic liturgies of the church. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.  We also include a variety of musical styles with a constant eye on quality. The newest hymnal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is used: Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares flowers, candles and seasonal arrangements for the altar.  The Altar Guild is in charge of decorating the sanctuary and prepares the Holy Communion.

Ushers
The Ushers serve during worship by distributing bulletins, passing the offering plates and guiding people during the Holy Communion.

Nursery
The nursery was recently remodeled.  The nursery opens at 9:45 a.m. and closes when all the children have been picked up after service.

Choir
Under the direction of Tom Hall, the choir meets for practice on Sunday morning prior to the scheduled worship service.  The choir sings during the worship service and participates in special events scheduled outside of the church.

Choir, Bells
Under the direction of Shelley Cuthbertson, the bell choir regulalry accompanies the organist and choir during worship and occassionally plays as the feautured musicians.

Assisting Ministers & Acolytes
Assisting Ministers participate in the church service by reading the Lessons and the Holy Gospel and aid the Pastor in the distribution of Holy Communion.  Acolytes assist with the reception of the Offering and Holy Communion and light and extinguish the altar candles before and after the service.

Mission Team - Welcoming
Trinity welcomes people of diverse backgrounds to its worship and its membership. At a typical worship assembly, you will find people of all ages; those with PhD’s and those with very little education; people who were born in other lands as well as the USA; musically gifted and the singing impaired; and, a whole lot of expressions of diversity. It is our intention to proclaim and live out that All Are Welcome in this Place, as the words of a contemporary hymn state it.

Greeters
The Greeters serve by welcoming members and visitors to Trinity Lutheran Church as they arrive before the worship service.

Mission Team - Learning
In addition to being centers of worship, congregations are also centers of inquiry where people seek meaning and understanding in relation to faith and life. This Ministry Team has the special task of guiding members, young and old, in their faith inquiries and development.

Adult Christian Education Class
The Adult Christian Education Class is a Bible study class designed to give members of the church an opportunity to explore and discuss Christian doctrine.  The loose format consists of the following basic items: the current Bible readings for that Sunday; Luther's thoughts on those passages; a significant Reformation incident; and current developments within the Christian Church, as well as other religions.

Mission Team - Serving
“Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” It is the responsibility of this Ministry Team to put “truth and action” into the congregation’s life. This committee looks outside of the congregation for avenues of service to the poor, imprisoned, and needy. Ministry Team members will grow in their spiritual lives as they put their love into action.

Esther Circle
Esther Circle has Bible study as its center. Opportunities for service come both within the congregation and in the world around us. We join together in sharing joys and struggles of daily life as well as shared faith. Our goal is to nurture the individual spiritual growth of each member.

Evening Circle, Band of Angels
The Evening Circle, Band of Angels is a social group that meets weekly to discuss how spiritual influences affect the daily lives of the group's participants.

Stephen Ministry
Trinity members may receive special training to engage in a caring ministry with others in a private, personal manner.  Confidentiality is a prime requirement.Reve

Sew 'N Sews
The Sew 'N Sews are a group of amiable people who enjoy sewing and helping others at the same time.  There are many pieces of loose material just waiting for willing hands to fashion into useful items for distributing to the Farmworkers' Self Help, All Childrens Hospital, CASA and Resurrection House.  Past outreach ministry projects include lap robes, quilts and little bags for use on wheelchairs.  The Sew 'N Sews meet every Wednesday morning at 9:30 am in the auditorium.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA)
Women of the ELCA is the women’s organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This network of nearly 500,000 participants in 64 geographical areas (called synods) in the United States and the Caribbean exists for mutual support and bold action on participants’ faith in Jesus Christ.

Mission Team - Support
This Ministry Team is responsible for managing the physical maintenance and repair of our house of worship, kitchen operations and all matters related to the financial collection, recordation, investment and disbursement of tithes and other financial gifts.

The Simply Giving program is a reliable, safe way to move your stewardship plan into action.  Through the Simply Giving program, your general offering or special gifts may be made through a pre-authorized withdrawal from your bank account.  You determine the frequency of your automatic gift – weekly, bi-weekly, monthly – the option is yours. Your general offering or special gift is deposited directly into TLC’s bank account on the same day it is withdrawn from your personal account.  For more information and an enrollment form, please click on the following link:
